From legendary Japanese Iron Chef, Masaharu Morimoto, comes mediocre pan-Asian restaurant: Morimoto Asia. Located inside Disney Springs in Orlando, I've walked by Morimoto a few times in the past and thought their menu looked interesting. They have a wide variety of Asian dishes, but their ramen selection were what caught my eye.
The building is massive and the interior decor is vibrant and trendy. I was very excited to finally give this place a go, and on the afternoon we came, it wasn't too busy (by Disney standards at least). We opted to skip the 30 minute wait and sat right at a high-top by the bar. You'll find a pretty extensive drink menu along with a wide array of food options.
Our server was super nice but sadly never came around too often so service was a bit disappointing. We went with their Tonkotsu Ramen and their Spicy Chasu Ramen. Both were good, but nothing to rave about. Broth for the Tonkotsu looked great and had that creamy texture you want from a nice Tonkotsu, but lacked a bit of depth in flavor.
I'm usually not big into desserts but if you browse any of their dessert pictures online, the artistry in their presentation is exquisite. When our dessert arrived, the presentation was certainly beautiful and there was a complexity in the layers and textures, but flavor-wise, it was somewhat one dimensional.
There's actually quite a bit on their menu that I want to try, but quite frankly, I'm in no rush to go back. If you're in the area and you want good variants of Asian dishes, Morimoto is not a bad option. If you want authentic or great flavors, you might want to look elsewhere.
