Remember going to Toys R' Us as a kid? The feeling of glee and excitement you would get as you raced down the aisles to find your favorite toy section. Oh what simple times. Fast forward to present day, and while I still enjoy a good toy store, it's a place like Ponce City Market that now fills me with the same sense of glee and excitement.
This was my first food hall foray and while I came with an empty stomach, I would probably need a few more if I truly wanted to enjoy the complete experience. There were just stall after stall and section after section of incredible food and drinks.
This place is absolutely huge. The main food sections make up the entirety of the first and second floors. There's some shops sprinkled in between, but the mini-restaurants are the star attractions. Outside, you can go up to the upper levels where you can find more shops and dining in a little rooftop/boardwalk area. To be honest, we were so full and lethargic after eating, we couldn't muster the energy to venture further upstairs.
We started with a delectable charcuterie board alongside a decadent squid ink pasta.
Then moved on to a succulent fried chicken sandwich.
For the piece de resistance, more ramen with accompanying side dishes.
Heavy breathing ensues. Too full...must stop....eating....but......dessert. Got some donuts and pastries to go. Somewhere in between there were a few beers sprinkled in. There was so much more I wanted to try. One day and one stomach just wasn't enough. If you love to eat and you're a die hard foodie, forget every other attraction in Atlanta and just come to the Ponce City Market.
