I've always been a huge marine life nerd, I even wanted to become a Marine Biologist at one point before my parents crumbled that dream by commenting there was no money in chasing fish (follow your dreams kids). I've been to plenty of aquariums and seen plenty of sharks but the whale sharks at the Georgia Aquarium are something else. Aside from the wild, you won't get too many opportunities to see these giant majestic bastards in all their glory. I could have sat all day at that exhibit alone watching these guys swim around.
The aquarium itself was smaller than I expected. Aside from the whale sharks and the manta rays, everything else was a bit par for the course. Overall I think the Chicago aquarium is still my favorite but the Georgia Aquarium is worth the trip just for the whale sharks.
